Assessment Criteria Grids (Rubrics)
An assessment criteria grid, also known as an assessment rubric or marking sheet, outlines how we assess students' work. Staff use it to communicate assessment criteria and the evidence required to meet these criteria at various levels. We share this information with students to help them understand the assessment process and enable them to evaluate their work and interpret feedback from others.
There are three main methods of adding Assessment Criteria Grids to assessments:
An assessment grid created directly in a Moodle Assignment
An assessment grid as a file and added to a Moodle Assignment
An assessment grid created directly in a Turnitin Assignment
Please note qualitative rubrics (where a mark is not automatically generated) and is based on evaluating performance by descriptive criteria and judgement-based standards; are currently not available within Moodle Assignment. Consider adding a file within the assignment or module.

If you have created your own rubric (in Word or Excel for example) it is possible to add the marked rubric in the Feedback files section on the student’s feedback.
It is also possible to provide the rubric in advance before they submit by adding the rubric in the Additional files section of the Moodle assignment.
