FAQs on the Closure of MediaSpace/Kaltura

Below are some FAQs to support you with the move from MediaSpace to Echo360 as the University’s primary video hosting platform.

Q: Why is the university moving to Echo360? 
A: Consolidating to a single platform reduces confusion, improves support efficiency, and enhances the overall user experience. 

Q: What happens to my existing MediaSpace videos? 
A: They will remain accessible where they are currently linked or embedded. A migration plan will be shared soon to help transition content to Echo360. 

Q: Can I still upload videos to MediaSpace? 
A: No. New uploads should now be made exclusively to Echo360. 

Q: Will Echo360 support the same features as MediaSpace? 
A: Yes. Echo360 allows you to add videos to Moodle, share links, and make content publicly available outside the university. 

Q: What if I have a special use case that doesn’t fit the standard workflow? 
A: We are actively engaging with users who have non-standard requirements. Please get in touch to discuss your needs. 

Q: When will MediaSpace be fully retired? 
A: The closure date will be Friday 31 July 2026.
